UNDER CANVAS AT THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM
By Ron Priest 207th
The NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM (NMA) have embarked on an ambitious improvement programme between now and the end of 2016. The reception and visitor centre will be completely refurbished and expanded to cope with the ever increasing visitor numbers. The first stage will be to move all of the offices, shop and restaurant facilities into temporary accommodation. I attach a photo of the ‘big top’ which was erected last week. Meanwhile your Halton Grove remains open as usual and continues to be tended by Dave Squires and his team of volunteers.
In our dealings with the general public who visit the museum we often receive complimentary comments about the high standard of our grove at the NMA. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the team for their superb contribution to our legacy. They rarely get a mention by name in the Haltonian, so here they are; ET
